We have made some great progress on traffic issues since SRNA's first joint meeting with City, County and TXDOT traffic engineers back in June 2012. Board members H Lobdell and Brian Thompto attended a meeting with TXDOT this past week and also were able to speak with the City signal engineer. Updates have been posted under 'Traffic Issues' detailing: 1. Progress with the City of Austin to start adjustment of signaling near 620/2222 2. TXDOT meeting summary including expanding immediate and longer-term plans for improvements 3. Feedback from Travis County TNR...

The 'Development Issues' page has been updated with the most recent status of development in and around Steiner Ranch, including: 1. Significant news at the end of 2012 was that Travis County TNR agrees with SRNA's assessment that residential is a bad fit for MU-14 due to poor traffic flow. Also, Taylor Morrison and KLP/Kucera would need a variance to be granted to proceed with the proposed duplexes since the tract only allows for one exit/entrance. SRNA continues to advocate alternatives to residential development on MU-14 including light-traffic commercial, or ownership by government entity and/or taxing district either permanently...

It is very disappointing that the city council chose to ignore the significant and legitimate concerns of fairness and equity regarding both out of town ratepayers and the punitive 5-tier rate structure. Workman has indicated he would support challenging the City of Austin on this issue if not addressed. ...

The meeting was successful in opening up a constructive discussion with the developer related to limiting the potential negative impacts of additional residential housing planned within Steiner Ranch. Specific concessions have been offered by Taylor Morrison as captured in a Memorandum of Understanding, shown below, and include progress with respect to the concerns of...

The Steiner Ranch Neighborhood Association development committee was given an update from Taylor Morrison representative Adib Khoury at a meeting on March 29th. At the development update we learned that there are about 900 new residential units total, with 800 new residential units planned or being considered for the Quinlan Park Rd. / Steiner Ranch Blvd. corridor near the entrance to Steiner Ranch. The SRNA is very concerned about the potential impacts that these proposed 800 new residential units would have for residents and businesses in...
