It is very disappointing that the city council chose to ignore the significant and legitimate concerns of fairness and equity regarding both out of town ratepayers and the punitive 5-tier rate structure. Simply put, Austin Energy should not include costs of Austin Energy payments to the City of Austin which are unrelated to the utility in the rates for out of city rate payers. HURF has done a great job of documenting why this general fund transfer from Austin Energy constitutes taxation without representation. Rep. Workman has indicated he would support challenging the City of Austin on this issue if not addressed. ...

Saturday April 14 - the Austin City Council will hear the voices of Austin Energy's suburban rate payers:

Lakeway City Hall - 1102 Lohmans Crossing Rd. 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us at the meeting and help show the Austin City Council that we are serious about getting a fair rate plan that focuses on conservation and energy efficiency and keeps Austin Energy solvent without siphoning off our utility dollars as as hidden tax to support city services. The Lakeway Halls holds 100 people - lets fill the hall! We need to get the attention of the council on important issues that have...

Click here to see a table with a listing of development by tract. The Steiner Ranch Neighborhood Association development committee was given an update from Taylor Morrison representative Adib Khoury at a meeting on March 29th. At the development update we learned that there are about 900 new residential units total, with 800 new residential units planned or being considered for the Quinlan Park Rd. / Steiner Ranch Blvd. corridor near the entrance to Steiner Ranch. The SRNA is very concerned about the potential impacts that these proposed 800 new residential units would have for residents and businesses in...
