Traffic

Plans to construct a double right-hand turn lane from RM 620 onto RM 2222 are anticipated to be contracted in December. TxDOT also plans to add a sidewalk and bike lane along RM 620 as well as replace traffic signals in the area. The project, which is estimated to cost $1.36 million, will be funded by a City of Austin bond program and TxDOT.

The subject of improvements at and around RM 620 and FM 2222 have been the subject at multiple SRNA board meetings. SRNA met with TxDOT about this and other issues earlier in the year. Review the proposed changes here.

Fire Prevention and Evacuation

Always good to keep up with what our Fire Dept is doing…click the link for their Fall Newsletter. Spoiler alert – there are some photos of the fuel mitigation work the Lone Star Hand Crew did for us on Varner Ct and Canyon Glen.

Security and Crime Prevention

There is a company called American Tree Service that has been cutting several trees down in the greenbelt area, until the HOA requested for them to stop yesterday. It is a violation to make any modifications to the greenbelt without submitting plans with a deposit, and receiving approval from the HOA. Per Mack at the HOA, “I’ve heard from one of the residents and it sounds like the tree company is misrepresenting themselves. I was hoping that you would share with your group that this company does not have authorization to do any work in our greenbelts and they are trespassing. They are claiming that the fire marshal has made this recommendation, that is also false. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to submit and get approval PRIOR to allowing anyone access into the greenbelts.”
